In a strange case, a Tata Nexon catches fire, allegedly, without any obvious reason. I have reported many cases in the past where cars are engulfed in flames. In most of these cases, the car owners took their vehicles to the aftermarket shops for modifications. In a bid to do that, they often end up purchasing sub-standard electronic equipment which often leads to short circuits. That is the most common reason for automobile fires. However, there are also cases where a vehicle catches fire due to some manufacturing defect. The details can only become clear after a thorough investigation.
Tata Nexon Catches Fire
The visuals of this tragic incident emerge from Harsh VLOGS on YouTube. The video clip shows the SUV completely engulfed in violent flames. In fact, the man who is making this video, perhaps the owner of the car, is visibly distressed due to this entire situation. He makes the video to show the entire incident. Even the persons present at the scene ask him to record everything as evidence for later. The first thing that you would think is that this is due to aftermarket modifications. However, the man in the video clearly states that he had not done anything on this car.
It remains in exactly similar condition as the stock model. Moreover, the owner mentions that it has been 17 months since he purchased the Tata Nexon. During this time, he has completed around 15,000 km in it. Unfortunately, during a recent drive of around 30 km, the vehicle was being driven at 50 km/h. Suddenly, the owner alleges that the vehicle caught fire for no apparent reason. It was so brutal that they were not even able to take their belongings out. Within a matter of a few minutes, the entire vehicle was reduced to ashes. Also, the owner says that the dealership is brushing off the matter and asking him to discuss further proceedings with the insurance company.
Our View
I have come across multiple cases of fires in all sorts of cars. However, in this latest case, I would refrain from jumping to any conclusion just yet. I am not aware of the entire details of this case. In any case, I can only hope that Tata Motors launches a thorough investigation into this case to extract the exact reason for the fire. Otherwise, it stands to lose its image among the existing and potential buyers. I shall keep an eye out for more details in this case going forward.
