A 15-year-old boy totals Mahindra Thar and shows off a bundle of cash on camera. It is just beyond comprehension what some people are willing to do. The boy was driving a Thar in 4×4 configuration, which is the top model. The Thar proudly holds the title of being the most cherished off-road vehicle in the country. The classic Thar has been a consistent presence in the market for a considerable time and continues to be the preferred choice for off-road enthusiasts, mainly due to the absence of any substantial competitors. However, the landscape has seen a transformation with the arrival of the new 5-door Maruti Jimny. Nonetheless, the Thar’s demand remains unwavering. Now, let’s delve into the specifics of this recent development.

15-Year-Old Boy Totals Mahindra Thar
This video comes from Anshu Batra on YouTube. It captures the YouTuber in a car shop. He is there to fix his DC Avanti. As he waits for his car to be healthy again, he encounters a weird scenario. A young boy is in the workshop with his Mahindra Thar. The vlogger strikes up a conversation with this boy. The latter told him that he crashed his Mahindra Thar on a highway. He was driving at around 80-90 km/h with music at high volume. As a result, he was unable to hear the truck honking. That is when the truck hit the SUV from behind.

The damage to the off-roader is evident. The entire rear section is deformed. In addition, the side profile and side fenders have also sustained impact. Thankfully, the boy escaped unscathed. This is a testament to the build quality of the Thar. Note that it boasts a decent 4-star safety rating at the Global NCAP. What is particularly shocking is the fact that the boy has no remorse at all. In fact, he goes on to show off a bundle of cash from his pocket. He is not worried about the cost of repair at all. He even says that his gold chain is missing after the accident. But he doesn’t want it back.

What We Think
Now, there are so many issues with this case. Firstly, how a 15-year-old boy is allowed to drive on the road is beyond us. He can’t technically possess the learner’s license. Secondly, he is travelling on the road with such high-volume music and is not able to hear the other road users’ horns. That puts everyone at risk since his entire focus is on using the phone. He even made a video of himself just before the accident. Therefore, he is clearly distracted, which is not the correct way of driving. We must take traffic rules and regulations seriously and hope that such offenders face the judicial consequences for their actions.
