Honda Elevate is almost 4 months old in the market, and it has met with reasonable success. In fact, it has been quick to become the most popular model from its carmaker. On the sales charts, it’s been regularly outselling the MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq and VW Taigun. While it’s still not as popular as the Maruti Grand Vitara or Hyundai Creta, it’s fast becoming a popular choice of C-SUV buyers. Much of this can be attributed to traits like that of a brilliant pricing, spacious cabin, reliable engine and good ride quality. The Elevate truly has enough going for it. However, it misses out on some key features. To make matters worse, all its rivals offer at least some of these. So, in all probability, the facelift has high chances of getting the missing kit. That said, let’s not forget that the mid-cycle update is at least a couple of years away. For now, though, let us take a look at the top 10 features that Elevate doesn’t offer.

Specs
The Honda Elevate houses a 1.5L i-VTEC DOHC petrol engine that incorporates VTC (Variable Timing Control) technology. This engine is offered with two transmission choices: a 6-speed manual and a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The engine delivers a peak power of 89 kW (121 PS) and a maximum torque of 145 Nm. Additionally, plans are underway for an all-electric variant, and there’s even a possibility of the SUV adopting the City’s potent hybrid iHEV system in the future. We shall have to wait for that and be merry with this familiar powertrain until then.

What We Think
Modern customers look for the latest tech, convenience and connectivity features in all new cars. In fact, the expectations from a car in this segment are humungous. Moreover, Honda had the advantage of being the latest entrant in this category. As a result, it could have offered al the goodies. However, we’re sure Honda had the time to study the market trends and customer preferences. Moreover, it has been in our market for decades now. It understands how much Indian customers prioritise the VFM quotient. In such a scenario, it has surely hit the sweet spot. However, we are sure that equipping the Elevate with some more goodies will make it fend off the competition better. So, for now, we look forward to the facelift to come with all the bells and whistles.
